George Plescia

Prior to being elected to the State Assembly in 2002, Assemblyman Plescia had served with State Senator Bill Morrow in various legislative capacities over several years, in addition he volunteered his time to work with many regional groups on issues critical to all San Diegans.

Serving as Senator Morrow’s Regional Director, George Plescia worked hand in hand with San Diego and North County elected officials on issues ranging from public safety to tax relief. He worked at the local level to resolve problems, and as a liaison brought San Diego’s concerns to the attention of leaders in Sacramento. In so doing, Assemblyman Plescia earned a reputation as a solid conservative with practical experience to get the job done.

Assemblyman Plescia was appointed by San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy to the Mayor’s Sorrento Valley Traffic Subcommittee. Chosen to serve alongside nine other community leaders, Plescia will help the Subcommittee focus on specific traffic congestion issues facing the Sorrento Valley/UTC region as well as to help implement traffic relief strategies in conjunction with some of San Diego’s largest employers.

The 75th Assembly District includes Escondido, Poway, San Diego, Carmel Valley, Fairbanks Ranch, La Jolla, Mira Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos, Scripps Ranch and Sorrento Mesa.

Assemblyman Plescia makes his home in the UTC area of San Diego. He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento.
