What is CITC ?

The California Industry and Trade Council (CITC) is a statewide federation of local and regional industry and trade associations dedicated to sharing information, combining resources and amplifying the voice of manufacturers and other trade industry job creators. Sponsored by the California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) in Sacramento, CITC will operate as conduit between local industry association executives and CMTA toward promoting both greater local grassroots responsiveness on state legislative issues and Sacramento responsiveness to the brewing local challenges facing business and industry.

How will CITC operate?

CITC will be a council of executive directors from each of the state’s regional industry associations. Although it will have its own board governance and leadership functions it will play a role in the development of public policy in Sacramento through the California Manufacturers & Technology Association. Two CITC board seats – the Chair and Vice Chair—will concurrently hold seats rotationally on the board of directors for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association. As a result, important issues developing at the local level will be more expeditiously communicated to the industry representatives in Sacramento while, conversely, key statewide issues percolating in the State Capital will be dispatched to the local level with greater speed for rapid grassroots action. This synergetic relationship will ultimately improve the effectiveness and influence of industry advocacy at both at the local and statewide level.
