Green building: A step toward more energy supply

Regarding the state's adoption of the nation's first green building standards code,  I applaud Governor Schwarzenegger for taking this step to improve the
energy efficiency of building construction in California. A large percentage
of our electricity and natural gas consumption occurs in residential and
commercial buildings. With the adoption of the new building code, California
has taken a significant step towards improving the future energy supply
outlook for the state.
