CalRecycle releases report on 75% Recycling GoalMay. 22, 2012CalRecycle has released their report to the Legislature regarding strategies for getting to the 75 percent diversion goal under AB 341 (Chesbro) passed last year. Recall, AB 341 called for a goal of 75 percent diversion by 2020 through source reduction, recycling and composting. As you will note, the report outlines a variety of concepts for helping to reach the goal including development of an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, increased recycling infrastructure, increased commercial recycling, reforming the beverage container recycling program, source reduction, funding and more. CalRecycle intends to hold a series of workshops, webinars, and working groups to discuss these issues over the next 18 months.
