The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (better known as Cal/OSHA) will hold its first IndoorHeat Advisory Committee Meeting on February 28 from 10am to 3pm in Oakland, California. The meeting has been convened in accordance with the law as part of the rulemaking process for the Indoor Heat Illness Prevention regulations required under SB 1167 (Chapter 839, Statues of 2016), which requires Cal/OSHA to develop an indoor heat-related illness standard for adoption by the Occupational Safety Health Standards Board by January 1, 2019.

This will be the first public opportunity for discussion between the Division and interested parties with more meetings to be scheduled throughout the state. If you are interested in this issue and would like to be active through CMTA in providing feedback on the proposal, please contact Nicole Rice, Policy Director for Governmental Affairs at nrice@cmta.net.
