The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) capitalized on national momentum and launched its State of Manufacturing Tour last month in Austin, Texas, at Emerson Electric Company with Chairman and CEO and NAM Board Chair David Farr. The tour continued to New York, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

On Thursday, February 23, Farr also took the national manufacturing message and NAM's “Competing to Win” policy agenda directly to President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House. Farr and NAM President Jay Timmons appeared on Fox’s “Varney & Co.” and CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” to solidify national coverage of the efforts.

Amid visits to shop floors, schools, innovation labs and economic clubs, Timmons made it clear that manufacturers are feeling optimistic, but that we still have work to do to show more Americans they have a place in the modern manufacturing economy. NAM also  launched “Creators Wanted,” a video series capturing the unlimited opportunities for workers in America’s manufacturing economy.
