CA unemployment down, but CA lost 4,000 MFG jobs in February

Despite California’s unemployment rate improvement to 5.0 percent in February and 22,900 new nonfarm payroll jobs, California lost 4,000 manufacturing jobs in the same month, according to the California Employment Development Department (EDD) jobs report on Friday.  In February 2016, the state's unemployment rate was 5.6 percent. 

The U.S. unemployment rate decreased 0.1 percentage point in February to 4.7 percent, with employers nationwide adding 235,000 nonfarm payroll jobs. including 28,000 manufacturing jobs.
