Sacramento, CA – Today the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) released its 2017 Manufacturing Vote Record for the state's 120 legislators. It identifies action taken this year on the sector’s most important floor votes in the Assembly and Senate.

You can download the 2017 Manufacturing Vote Record here, showing that 44 legislators, including Democrats and Republicans, supported California manufacturers at least 70 percent of the time.

"California legislative policies have a profound impact on manufacturing growth and investment in the State,” said CMTA President Dorothy Rothrock . “We commend the legislators who are demonstrating their commitment to manufacturing.  California has the world’s most advanced and energy-efficient manufacturing economy, but has sector growth that far lags the national manufacturing surge.  It should be a high priority for all policymakers to make California competitive for new manufacturing investments.”

CMTA notes that there were many important manufacturing votes, on the floor and in policy committees, not included in this analysis. The votes used in the record reflect the first time legislators voted on the substantive policy represented in a bill after having been informed of CMTA's position on the policy and its positive or negative impact on manufacturers and technology companies.
