Manufacturers respond to climate change poll results
Aug. 2, 2012 Sacramento, CA -- California Manufacturers & Technology Association president Jack Stewart made the following statement today regarding the Public Policy Institute of California's (PPIC) "Californians and the Environment" poll results released last night:
"It is not surprising that Californians support the state’s climate laws - they have been repeatedly told by regulators there will be no cost. In fact, our recent study shows that very high electric, natural gas and transportation costs will be incurred when all AB 32 related programs go into effect. The PPIC poll reinforces the findings made by the poll conducted by the AB 32 Implementation Group that support falls below 50 percent when a price tag is attached to the policy."
