CMTA Hires Well Respected Capitol Veteran as Energy Lobbyist

Sacramento, CA - The California Manufacturers & Technology Association announced this week the addition of Delette Speelmon to its lobbying team. Speelmon, a former Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Keith Olberg and Assemblywoman Lynn Daucher, will coordinate CMTA’s policy positions on energy issues.

Delette is an outstanding addition to our lobbying staff. She has spent the last six years in the Capitol shaping bi-partisan relationships based on trust and a well rounded knowledge of the issues,” said CMTA President, Jack M. Stewart.

Before coming to the capitol in 1995, Speelmon worked as a Legislative Coordinator for the Chemical Industry Council of California where she managed their regulatory and government affairs agenda and directed a program for responsible industry practices.

“We were looking for someone who could handle the unwieldy nature of the legislature and the pressing energy issues,” said Dorothy Rothrock, CMTA Vice President of Government Affairs, “Our members will benefit from Delette’s ability to bring about legislative resolutions.”

Speelmon has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government from California State University, Sacramento and is working toward her Juris Doctorate degree at the McGeorge School of Law.
