CMTA, in partnership with the other employer groups, has founded the Heat Illness Prevention Network, (HIP Network).  This public/private partnership is being established to increase awareness for employers and the employees of the hazards of heat illness and the importance of implementing prevention measures to avert serious illnesses or fatalities in the workplace.

The HIP network will disseminate timely information provided by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).  Members of the network will be encouraged to share information with their employees about prevention measures provided by DOSH and to recognize heat illness as a hazard of the workplace.  There will be no cost associated with the network and the use of your organization’s name as a member of the network is optional.

DOSH is taking steps to educate more employers and employees about heat illness prevention and this network is one way employers can increase safety measures in the workplace, especially during extraordinary circumstances such as a heat wave.  All employers are encouraged to join the network which eventually will be managed by DOSH. Click here for an enrollment
