CMTA President Jack Stewart participated in a six-city tour with U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina this week to endorse her campaign to unseat Senator Barbara Boxer this Fall.  This is the first federal candidate endorsement CMTA has made in its 92-year existence.  Stewart penned the reasons for CMTA's endorsement here.

CMTA also endorsed moderate Republican Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee in the August 17 Special Election to fill SD 15, left vacant by Abel Maldonado who was appointed Lt. Governor.  Blakeslee got 49.3 percent of the vote in the earlier primary, forcing a Special General Election between the two top candidates -- Blakeslee and Democrat John Laird.  CMTA's endorsement press release is here.
