Hurried workers' comp reform in the works

Rising workers' compensation costs and Labor’s desire to see permanent disability benefit increases have put this important issue back on the table in Sacramento. A small group of labor groups and employers have been meeting in recent months to formulate a proposal to put before lawmakers in August. While not final or completely finished, the details were shared with a broader group of stakeholders yesterday, August 9th, including CMTA, insurance companies and others. CMTA has not yet formed an opinion on the 279 pages of bill language.
