Message to all manufacturers, large and small - We need your help.

There are 39 new members of the state assembly.  At CMTA we can do our best to tell them about manufacturing and how to vote on bills, but they care most about the people and businesses in their districts. If they hear from you, it is easier to convince them to do the right thing.

You should consider government as a major business partner. Every aspect of your operation is governed by laws and regulations that impact your business. Under the extended term limits rule, new assembly legislators can hold their seats until 2024.  It is a wise long-term investment to make sure your legislator/partner knows about your business – what will make you grow or shrink in the state.

Don’t be shy. Pick up the phone.  Send a short email. Congratulate them on their new position. Talk about your business. Share your biggest challenges. Ask how they plan to help you in the next twelve years. What else would they like to know about your employees, growth opportunities, markets, and competition? Maybe they would like to visit your facility and meet your employees.  And tell them that CMTA is a great resource for information about policies to help manufacturers like you.

By taking this simple step you will help make CMTA advocacy - but more importantly,  your business – more successful. All of us at CMTA wish you prosperity and good health in the New Year.
