The San Diego Industrial Environmental Association and CMTA will jointly host a comprehensive environmental issues conference: "The Price of Paradise". The purpose of the conference is to engage manufacturers, government officials and other stakeholders in discussions of recently adopted and anticipated future environmental policies. These policies affect the long-term viability of in-state manufacturing and determine the course of California's economic development.

It will feature a full day of air quality, water quality, energy, and hazardous materials tracks. A half day will be devoted to the Precautionary Principle. D.O.T. training on transportation of hazardous materials and a workshop on industrial BMP are also on the schedule.

Also on the agenda is a California air pollution control officers panel with local perspectives from San Diego, Monterey Bay and Sacramento Air Quality Districts. An environmental justice panel includes members from CalEPA, the City of Los Angeles, California Council on Economic and Environmental Balance and the Air Resources Board. E-waste will be discussed by Sony, California Integrated Waste Management Board and CalEPA. Another panel convenes around Total Maximum Daily Loads listing policy.

CMTA encourages members and other interested parties to take advantage of this unique event. To register, or for more info, go to IEA/CMTA Environmental Conference We hope to see you there!
