Chlorine Residual Limits

The State Water Resources Board is contemplating adoption of chlorine residual limits statewide for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits patterned after the very tight “end of pipe” limits imposed in the Bay Area. Compliance would be difficult or nearly impossible to meet for most California Public Owned Treatment Works (POTW's) and some industries. CMTA will be addressing this issue before it gets in front of the State Board next year.
