CMTA supports the recommendations related to career and technical education (CTE). The expansion of strong CTE programs in our public school system will provide enormous benefits to both manufacturers and the students engaged in these programs. The result of our current, weak CTE system is students leaving public schools without employable skills and manufacturers unable to recruit and retain skilled workers. For this reason, training the workforce of the future for modern, high-tech manufacturing is one of the highest priorities for CMTA members.
