Please join CMTA, the California Coalition on Workers’ Compensation and the Workers’ Compensation Action Network on Wednesday, April 2, for our 2014 Legislative Day in Sacramento.

Each year, this high-impact event brings employers from across California to the State Capitol to discuss the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our workers’ compensation system with lawmakers. With implementation of the 2012 reform legislation (SB 863, Chapter 363, Kevin de León, D-Los Angeles,) still ongoing, various anti-reform attacks underway, and system costs increasing, employers must be both seen and heard in Sacramento to help shape a high-quality system for the future.

As part of Legislative Day, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Hear the latest information on workers' compensation issues;
  • Gain insight into the political dynamic in Sacramento;
  • Talk with lawmakers and staff about the impact of recent system changes and ongoing challenges for employers and injured workers;
  • Help support (or oppose) specific legislation;
  • Participate in a policy committee hearing (subject to scheduling);
  • Attend our luncheon presentation with special guests and speakers; and
  • Network with fellow employers.

Not a workers’ compensation expert? No problem. We want employers of all sizes and experience to participate. There will be a briefing and training session – via webinar – in advance of April 2.
