CMTA hosted its first Champions of Manufacturing Summit this week and the reviews are in. California manufacturing is a mind-blowing mix of innovation, opportunity and talented workers. The sector is simply the engine that drives California and we must find ways to grow the coveted industry.

With more than 150 people in attendance and 300 watching the live broadcast online, our Master of Ceremonies Adam Carolla, as well as Go-Biz Director Kish Rajan, helped us recognize seven Champion companies for their commitment to California, to their workers and to innovation. The honorees covered a spectrum of specific industries and different regions:

  • Vista Metals from Fontana
  • Keystone Engineering from Long Beach
  • Sierra Nevada Brewing from Chico
  • California Steel Industries from Fontana
  • California Custom Fruits & Flavors from Irwindale
  • FATHOM from Oakland (their release)
  • Parallax from Rocklin (their post)

CMTA is busy dicing up the video from the Summit to distribute the best parts to you.  Some of the employee testimonials will make you stand up and cheer.  Look for our next update with more information on the Champions program, how to get involved and links to see some of the great action from Wednesday's Summit.  For now, there are a few photos below and you can see the Summit's twitter activity here.

This week's launch of the Champions program was more successful than we even dreamed.  In the months and years to come California manufacturers and their workers will be proud of this growing effort and CMTA hopes to engage the entire state in this campaign.  We will not stop until all Californians understand the importance of this great industry and become champions for the cause of growing manufacturing here in the Golden State.
