This Tuesday, July 1, 2014 a new California law takes effect that will allow manufacturers and some research and developers to receive a partial sales and use tax exemption when they make qualified purchases. Join a Telephone Townhall that same day, July 1, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (Pacific), hosted by Board of Equalization Member George Runner, former California State Senator, and co-hosted by CMTA.

The Townhall will provide information on tax issues specific to the manufacturing and technology industry including the upcoming adoption of the Manufacturing and Research & Development Equipment Sales Tax Credit.

Register online here or by call 1-916-445-3032.

You can also visit the Board of Equalization's Manufacturing Exemption webpage, which provides helpful information on the new tax exemption, including which purchases qualify and how much tax is exempt.
