A few weeks ago we told you that the State Water Resources Control Board had held a workshop on June 20th concerning SWRCB fees for 2014-2015 and were proposing an increase in industrial fees of 10.5 percent. However, on August 14th, they formally announced that industrial fees would not only not go up, but will decrease by 8.2 percent.

The positive adjustments were a result of a number of factors: getting allocated additional general funds, forecasts had not been previously updated, and the accounting office had not provided adjusted numbers indicating unspent revenues from the previous year.

SWRCB staff plan to present their fee proposal during the September 23rd Board meeting.
