CMTA never stops fighting for manufacturing in Sacramento.  Our lobbyists will be busy when legislators return August 17th for the last four weeks of session.  We also have our eyes on the future to see what issues in 2016 require our attention. Our roadmap of major manufacturing topics for 2016 will be published in CMTA's new annual magazine in October. You can use this link to make sure you receive the magazine (you'll have to enter your e-mail and check the "magazine" box).

Next year the agencies and legislature will be making decisions that affect operations for every manufacturer in the state.  Bills that were stalled this year will be back for debate in January. Voters will have a chance to pass or defeat tax measures in November.  A big unknown is how government could react to an economic downturn, natural disaster or a worsening drought.

We are ready to fight for manufacturing no matter what happens!  But our odds of success will increase if you are on board with CMTA, helping us communicate with legislators and rallying your communities to support manufacturing.  Your first step is to learn what is on the horizon.  Read the magazine in October, and stay tuned to CMTA for updates as the year progresses.

In the meantime, don’t give up on 2015.  Important bills on energy, transportation, labor, and others will be debated and possibly sent to the Governor for signing or veto in September.  Watch cmta.net for the latest action and opportunity to make your voices heard.
