More than 120 California manufacturers (including more than 12 CMTA members) and training institutions opened their doors on Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) last week to show off our sector's incredible industrial innovation, facilities and jobs. CMTA was proud to participate in various events around the state. Thank you to all our members who stepped up and halted some of their operations to open their doors to the public.

After four years of the National Association of Manufacturer's (NAM) MFG Day event (held the first Tuesday of every October), it is emerging as a cornerstone for the country’s manufacturing sector and a beacon for students who want to work with their hands, innovate and make cutting edge products. It’s also putting lawmakers on notice that constituencies want them to create policies that attract manufacturing investment.

To help commemorate the day, CMTA announced it’s eighth incredible Manufacturing Champion company, Tri Tool Incorporated, with this video and you can see some of the day’s great California twitter action and photos by clicking this link.

Nationally companies in all 50 states participated in over 2,000 MFG Day events, ultimately generating considerable media coverage throughout the weekend and drawing attention to manufacturers’ widespread efforts.
