I want to take this opportunity to let CMTA members know that Shaina Brown, our lobbyist on environmental quality issues, will be leaving CMTA as of Friday, March 9th.

Shaina faithfully served California manufacturers for the past year leading CMTA’s policy activities on such critical issues as Prop. 65, recycling, hazardous waste and water quality amongst many others. Her advocacy and coordination on these key issues played a significant role in supporting California manufacturers and technology companies and their employees.

She will be missed as a part of the CMTA advocacy team and a valued leader in the business community on environmental issues. We wish her the best in her next adventure.

In the near-term, we are building on an existing relationship with Dawn Koepke of McHugh, Koepke & Associates (MKA) who is one of the premier environmental lobbyists in California. Dawn and the MKA team have a longstanding relationship with CMTA and its members, so we anticipate a smooth transition as Dawn takes on these additional duties for CMTA. She will lead the Environmental Quality Committee and continue CMTA’s leadership role of an industry discussion group on environmental issues.

Steps to identify the next person to serve in this important role are already underway.

If you have any questions regarding environmental issues, please contact Marisa Melendez at MMelendez@cmta.netand we will respond in a timely manner.
