This week, CMTA joined other business groups at a press conference in Sacramento to endorse Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for re-election.  CMTA president, Jack Stewart,  put out the following formal media statement following the press conference:
"California needs a Governor who will improve the business climate for manufacturing and thus attract their high wage jobs and new investment. In his first term Gov. Schwarzenegger reformed the badly broken workers' compensation system to the benefit of all California employers. Now manufacturers are facing many challenges in the state, including high energy costs, taxes on purchases of machinery and equipment, and shortages of skilled workers. We look forward to working with the Governor in his second term to address these and other issues important to California families."
